Tom joined Prospect in September 2022, switching industries from cyber security to sport. Previously, Tom worked for Darktrace, where he contributed to building ML models to identify anomalous activity across computer networks. To bridge the gap into a career in Data Science, Tom then undertook a program at AiCore, where he completed various data science and engineering projects across a range of sports, including football and cricket.
Whilst at Prospect, Tom has been actively involved in numerous projects across cricket, building simulators to predict season outcomes across the top leagues in football and rugby, and models to predict match outcomes, attendance, and viewership.
Outside of work, Tom captains an LMS cricket team in the Tooting leagues. One of his first projects was to collect and analyse data on player performance to enable the cold-hearted, ruthless but data-backed dropping of close friends and family. In his spare time, Tom is a big Ronnie O’Sullivan fan; and dabbles in football, tennis, and golf.
